[Statement] My Faith Votes: National Prayer Breakfast a ‘Promising Sight’

Feb. 9, 2018

DALLAS — Jason Yates, CEO of My Faith Votes, releases a statement following the 66th Annual National Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning:

“Yesterday I witnessed a promising sight — politicians and religious leaders of all stripes breaking bread together and joining in prayer for our nation and each other. The president reminded us the freedoms we enjoy go hand in hand with the faith we practice. He said, ‘When Americans are able to live by their convictions, to speak openly of their faith, and to teach their children what is right, our families thrive, our communities flourish, and our nation can achieve anything at all.’

“For this reason it’s imperative that America be a praying nation. We must elect praying leaders who submit themselves to Divine guidance. In a time when division grabs the headlines, it’s heartening to know our congressmen, senators and the president acknowledge the importance of seeking godly wisdom as they serve our country.”
