[Statement] My Faith Votes on President Trump’s Address at the Celebrate Freedom Concert: ‘Most Important Speech Yet for the Faith Community’

Jul. 5, 2017

DALLAS — Jason Yates, CEO of my Faith Votes, releases a statement following President Trump’s landmark speech on religious liberty at the Celebrate Freedom Rally held at the Kennedy Center, Saturday, July 1:

“This past Saturday, at the Celebrate Freedom Concert, President Trump delivered what has become his most important speech yet for the faith community. In recent memory, I cannot think of another president speaking with so much conviction and honesty about religious freedom in America. Christians are extremely fortunate to have a president who believes, without excuse or apology, that America is at her greatest when she recognizes her Creator.

“As we celebrate American freedom this week, I’m thankful for the many countless blessings we enjoy in America, but I’m especially thankful we still live in a place where God is recognized and honored — beginning with the president of the United States.”

My Faith Votes—whose founding honorary national chairman was Dr. Ben Carson — is a nonpartisan movement focused on motivating Christians in America to participate in local and national elections and be active members of society. By partnering with local churches, pastors and national faith leaders, My Faith Votes mobilizes and resources Christians to lead the conversation on the place of faith in culture and politics. In the 2016 election, My Faith Votes was largely credited with activating a sizable percentage of the 25 million Evangelicals who were registered to vote in previous elections but had chosen not to, prompting a record turnout by Evangelicals.
