[Statement] My Faith Votes Supports HUD Secretary Carson’s Right to Practice His Christian Faith

Jan. 29, 2018

DALLAS — Jason Yates, CEO of My Faith Votes, issues the following statement supporting Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson’s defense of a Bible study attended by Cabinet officials in the White House:

“The Constitution clearly protects the right of every American to practice a vibrant and public faith. In fact, our Founders made sure religious liberty was our first freedom. Millions of people have flocked to our shores seeking that very guarantee to worship God freely. No amount of wishing and hoping on the part of left-wing atheist groups can overrule the law of the land or erase our history of religious freedom.

“We applaud Sec. Carson for boldly refusing to shove his faith under a bushel basket. Serving in government office should never preclude any American from openly living out his faith, and we can rest assured that Sec. Carson’s faith forms the cornerstone of his great character and love for this country and its people.”
