[Statement] Pastor Robert Jeffress: ‘Mueller Probe Must End for National Healing to Begin’

Jul. 17, 2018

DALLAS — Dr. Robert Jeffress, one of President Trump’s informal evangelical advisers, is calling for an end to the Mueller investigation. Jeffress, the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dallas, explained to Fox Business host Lou Dobbs Friday evening that ending the Mueller probe would be like “lancing a boil — enduring short-term pain to experience long-term healing:”

“The protracted Mueller investigation, far from providing answers or fostering national unity, has caused the controversy over the election to linger, the partisan vitriol to increase, and the fractures in our society to widen. The only way to heal the unprecedented divisiveness and poisonous discourse in our country is to wrap up the Mueller investigation now. Yes, the president or Congress will be criticized for ending the investigation, but like lancing a boil, short-term pain is necessary for long-term healing.”

Dr. Robert Jeffress is a best-selling author of 24 books, a nationally and internationally syndicated TV and radio host and the senior pastor of First Baptist Dallas, one of the largest and most influential churches in America. Pathway to Victory, Dr. Jeffress’ broadcast ministry, airs daily nationwide on more than 900 radio stations and is broadcast live to 195 countries. His latest book, “A Place Called Heaven: 10 Surprising Truths About Your Eternal Home,” is available in bookstores everywhere. He is an evangelical adviser to the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
