[Statement] Rev. Samuel Rodriguez Issues Statement in Support of the National Day of Prayer

May. 4, 2017

SACRAMENTO, Calif., May 4, 2017—Rev. Dr. Samuel Rodriguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), issues the following statement regarding the National Day of Prayer:

“Now more than ever, we urgently need to heed the admonition of Scripture, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

Join me today in seeking the heart and mind of God in prayer and repentance, for ourselves, for our families, and for this country that we love.

We will all do so with a full heart having already witnessed an answer to our prayers in the President’s decision today to strengthen our religious liberties.  I commend President Trump for fulfilling this promise.
