[Statement] ‘Texas should drive every Christian to his knees,’ says Ronnie Floyd, president of National Day of Prayer

Aug. 30, 2017

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Dr. Ronnie Floyd, president of the National Day of Prayer, releases the following statement calling Americans to pray for and give generously to relief efforts for the victims of the historic flooding in Texas:

“Texas is experiencing an unprecedented disaster in American history. Countless families have seen everything they own disappear in a blink of an eye, and precious lives, including of those conducting rescue operations, have been lost.

“The catastrophe unfolding in Texas should drive every Christian to his knees. The church in America must respond to this disaster with fervent prayer and radical generosity. It doesn’t matter if we are 500 miles away from the need or in the thick of it in downtown Houston: we can all do something.

“Please pray for the safety of first responders and for strength for those awaiting rescue, and please give to relief efforts. No one in Texas should feel left alone or beyond the reach of our prayers and help!”
