[Statement] The KAIROS Company Releases Statements In Response To The Coptic Church Bombings On Palm Sunday

Apr. 12, 2017

Statements from Dr. Ronnie Floyd, Dr. Joseph D’souza, and Pastor Greg Laurie

GLENDALE, Cali. — “The global church has now become accustom to some awful news every Easter afflicting some persecuted people around the world. Nations like Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria and Iraq have endured this terror entirely too long. Our world leaders must do more to allow Christians to worship free from fear.  On this Resurrection Week we also pray for the resurrection of security in these largely Islamic countries that have had thriving Christian communities for generations, and we pray for the witness and endurance of the persecuted church in countless countries around the world.”

Dr. Ronnie Floyd is the Senior Pastor of Cross Church, immediate past President of the Southern Baptist Convention, and founder of the Cross Church School of Ministry.

“On a day meant for celebration in the Christian faith, instead the Christian world mourned once again with our brothers and sisters in the Middle East.  We admire the faith and resilience of the Coptic Church in the face of repeated attacks over the past few months. We also double our resolve to fight against this disease of terrorism threatening Christianity around the world. Though, we are thousands of miles removed from the terror they’ve endured, let us be their most dedicated and unwavering advocate in the days to come.”

Most Rev. Dr. Joseph D’Souza is the Moderating Bishop of the Good Shepherd Church and Associated Ministries of India. He also serves as the President of the All India Christian Council.  He is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for his work as a human rights activist. He is also the founder and International President of the Dalit Freedom Network. He can be reached at: moderator[at]gsoim[dot]org.

“Our hearts break for this outrageous and wicked attack against Christians in Egypt.  The Bible says, ‘When one member suffers, we all suffer’( 1 Cor.12:26). May God comfort their families. ISIS must be stopped!”

Pastor Greg Laurie serves as the senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, one of the largest churches in America; is the author of more than 70 books; hosts the nationally syndicated radio broadcast, A New Beginning; and is the founder of Harvest Crusades, a large-scale evangelistic ministry whose next event, Harvest America, will be held June 11 in Phoenix at the University of Phoenix Stadium and broadcast live nationwide. His next book “Steve McQueen: The Salvation of an American Icon” releases on June 13.
