International Fellowship of Christians and Jews

The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews was founded in 1983 to promote understanding and cooperation between Jews and Christians and to build broad support for Israel and other shared concerns. Our vision is that Jews and Christians will reverse their 2,000-year history of discord and replace it with a relationship marked by dialogue, understanding, respect and cooperation.

[Statement] Yael Eckstein, President of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, Remembers Israeli First Lady Nechama Rivlin as a ‘Picture of Dignity and Dedication’

Jun. 5, 2019

JERUSALEM —With the passing of Israeli First Lady Nechama Rivlin, Mrs. Yael Eckstein of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews issues the following remarks:

“We extend our condolences to the President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin, as we all mourn the loss of his dear wife Nechama—another among the modern State of Israel’s founding generation. Like so many Israelis, Nechama Rivlin’s life charted a varied and interesting path. From the halls of the university to the halls of the presidential residence, she was a picture of dignity and she lived her life in total dedication to Israel’s most vulnerable people. Her loss is felt in the very heart of our nation. May her memory be a blessing.”
