‘The History of Easter’ to debut April 1 on Trinity Broadcasting Network
WASHINGTON — Museum of the Bible will debut “The History of Easter,” a documentary that explores the origins of Easter by moving backward in time from the present day to the Resurrection of Jesus as it examines the incredible global impact of Easter. The film will premiere on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on Thursday, April 1. View the trailer here.
“For those belonging to Christian, Catholic and Orthodox traditions, the Resurrection of Jesus defines history and human life,” said Harry Hargrave, CEO of Museum of the Bible. “This documentary will engage viewers with a compelling exploration of the history of Easter. Through delving into the Bible and the Resurrection, not only Easter but the human condition may be better understood.”
Filmed in Israel, Italy and at the Museum of the Bible, the documentary has a vast perspective on the history of Easter, presenting the origin of many of its traditions that have grown through the ages, ending with a presentation of the original Easter week.
“The History of Easter” is narrated by Matthew West, an award-winning Christian musician and actor and will incorporate narration, museum exhibits, recreated Resurrection footage and motion graphics. Museum of the Bible, Minus Red and TBN previously worked together to produce “The Truth I’m Standing On” (2020) and “The Night of the Nativity” (2020).
TBN will air “The History of Easter” at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 1 and at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 3.
